(Ange au Sourire, Cathedral of Reims)
I really never liked Abba, because neither did I like their presentation, nor their sweety (for my taste quite hypocritical insinuations to adultery) songs. The lyrics of this song I liked though very much, as it was associated in my mind to ‘angel’ Natasha. In my book, highly ranked IS officers in Russia were called angels in Russian, although I never got to know how you say angel in Russian, actually. perhaps also because after all it said many more truths than it appeared to, concerning my own life, at least.
I had a dream, for some to see, to hold me coat through everything,
if you see the wonder, of the fairy tale, you can take the future, even if you fail.
I believe in angels, something good in everything I see,
I believe in angels, when I know the time is ripe for me,
I had a dream, I crossed the street,
I had a dream, a fantasy, to hold me through reality.
And my destination is it worth the while,
takes you through the darkness to another light,
I believe in angels …
Say, Natasha, could this not be a bad translation from a Russian popular song? Ask for author’s rights! You’ll get rich, ma dear …
